I love these asymmetrical cakes! What's inside the baubles? Are they solid fondant/icing/whatever, or are they coated cake pieces?

Is this a new design for a wedding cake-- the florals with the combo of fondant balls and pink stripes? It is such a lovely cake. Every time I think I have seen my favorite- you top it! :)

What are the flowers on top? or are they flowers? They look rather black & white in the pic, which seems an odd choice for a pink & brown cake...

I really enjoyed this one.
I love the ones that catch me by surprise, whether it's shape or color motif or all three. Usually the color is the first big thing.
I've seen flower and pearls and swags and swirls, yadda yadda yadda...
they are amazingly beautiful to look at, don't get me wrong...
But I love the ones that take me off guard, that are vibrant and different.
I like different.

To answer a question below the white things on top are mushrooms. That was a running theme thoughout our wedding decorations.
My (now) husband and I wanted something different hence the 3 different offset shapes with different design on each layer. We were going for a whimsically elegant thing very loosely based on Disney's Alice and Wonderland; think feel, not caricatures. When we started to describe our vision, Margaret (who is AMAZING) ran over to her desk and started to sketch out EXACTLY what we were going for.
Needless to say, it WAS perfect (and delicious) and I am completely thrilled at everyone who's posted reactions. :-)
