100_1638 - Random Stephanotis

100_1638, originally uploaded by margaretsbakery.

We managed to catch the bride on the way in to get her opinion of the matter and she said it was quote absolutely amazing end quote.

All three tiers are covered in Fondant and have stephanotis randomly decorating them.

Top tier (6"x6") = Devil's Food with Raspberry Preserves and Chocolate Non Dairy Whipped Cream.
Middle tier (10"x10") = Princess Cake with Non Dairy Whipped Cream
Bottom tier (14"x14") = Devil's Food with Raspberry Preserves and Fresh Raspberries.

Delivered to Hotel Los Gatos and served 50 guests, at least.

~Joe

How absolutely adorable! I like fresh flowers, but these look more fresh than the Real Deal. So sweet. I am wondering if the cake was based on the bride's dress? I recently made a figure skating costume with little appliqued daisies all over the strecth lace, for a 3D effect. (Netting and daisies make a perfect combination of simplicity and layering) Your cake designs are such an inspiration.

First, let me say that your blog is amazing and has become my happy place over the past month.

Second, small bit of wedding trivia, stephanotis are very popular wedding flowers in the greek orthodox church. In fact, the wedding crowns that the couple wears during the ceremony are called Stephana.

How much would a cake like this run if I were to go through you? For say... 100 people.

Well, base price is $5 per person. Fondant is an extra $1 per person. Not including pricing for flowers and square tiers you are looking at around $600.

It certainly is quite an attractive cake. I love the flowers the most. They give the cake a certain pizzazz without ruining its elegance. ^_^
